The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal for revival of BSNL and MTNL by administrative allotment of spectrum for 4G services, debt restructuring by raising of bonds with sovereign guarantee, reducing employee costs, and monetisation of assets. It has also given an in-principle approval to the merger of BSNL and MTNL.
Reliance Jio has reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Himachal Pradesh, under which, it will undertake an investment of Rs 6.26 billion for the creation of digital infrastructure in the state under the Himachal Pradesh Digitalisation project.
Indus Towers has announced plans to launch charging points for electric vehicles (EV) by utilising its telecom towers.
