Bharti Airtel awards Huawei gear contract for 3G

Bharti Airtel has awarded Huawei Technologies a part of the telecom gear contract to supply 3G equipment. The Chinese equipment vendor will provide 3G equipment to Bharti in three circles and will also manage and maintain Bharti Airtel's networks in these regions. The company has also chosen Ericsson India and Nokia Siemens Networks as network partners to launch 3G services. As per industry estimates, Bharti's contract size will be to the tune of $700 million.
