UTStarcom is planning to set up its manufacturing plant and a research and development centre in India after Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) clears its dues.
UTStarcom supplies network gears for broadband service mainly to BSNL and Tata Teleservices.
As per the company, it already has approval to set up the unit. However, it is waiting for the clearance of its dues from BSNL, which is expected to cross Rs 5 billion by the end of 2019.
The company is focused on 5G services and is developing network gears that can support 200 GB per second speed from next year.
