RailTel provisions free WiFi at Dera Baba Nanak railway station in Punjab
RailTel has provided Railwire WiFi at Dera Baba Nanak railway station in Punjab.
As per statement released by the company, the free Railwire WiFi can be used inside the railway station premises by anyone who has a smartphone with a working connection for KYC consideration. In addition, the Sultanpur Lodhi station, which has a rush of pilgrims for visiting Dera Baba Nanak, has also been provided with WiFi.
RailTel was also entrusted by National Informatics Centre (NIC) to deliver 8 Mbps BW at integrated check post at Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur under the "Kartarpur Corridor" Project, which was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 9, 2019.
This leased line connectivity will enable the integrated check post to authenticate traveller's identity at the immigration check post and foreigners registration offices (FROs) through the use of intelligent documents scanners and biometrics, updation of foreigner's details at entry and exit points.
