Reliance Jio leads the 4G download speed chart with 21.0 Mbps speed in September 2019, TRAI

According to recent data published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio has secured the leaders position in the 4G download speed category for September 2019. The telco recorded the highest average 4G download speed of 21.0 Mbps.

Reliance Jio’s 4G download speed is more than double the speeds recorded by other operators,  Airtel, Vodafone and Idea individually. While Airtel recorded 4G download speed of 8.3 Mbps, Vodafone and Idea recorded speed of 6.9 Mbps and 6.4 Mbps, respectively.

That said, in terms of individual performance, Reliance Jio observed a decline in the 4G download speed from 21.3 Mbps in August 2019 to 21.0 Mbps in September 2019. Vodafone’s 4G download speed also declined from 7.7 Mbps in August 2019 to 6.9 Mbps in September 2019. On the other hand, Airtel saw an improvement in the 4G download speed from 8.2 Mbps in August 2019 to 8.3 Mbps in September 2019. Likewise, Idea’s 4G download speed also witnessed marginal improvement from 6.1 Mbps in August 2019 to 6.4 Mbps in September 2019.

As far as 4G upload speeds are concerned, Idea topped the chart by recording highest upload speed of 5.4 Mbps, closely followed by Vodafone at 5.2 Mbps, in September 2019. Meanwhile, Jio and Airtel recorded 4G upload speeds of 4.2 Mbps and 3.1 Mbps, respectively.
