Reliance Jio, Airtel and VIL pay Rs 45 billion as spectrum dues to the government

According to industry sources, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) and Bharti Airtel have paid a cumulative amount of Rs 45 billion to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) towards spectrum dues.

While Reliance Jio paid Rs 11.33 billion to the DoT, Vodafone Idea paid Rs 24.21 billion and Bharti Airtel paid Rs 9.77 billion, respectively.

The payments accounted for deferred spectrum liability or instalments for radiowaves bought in past auctions and were reportedly made before the due date of October 21, 2019.
