Key announcements at IMC 2019

Following are the key announcement made during day-2 of IMC 2019

Reliance Jio unveiled a native video call assistant (Bot) at IMC 2019. The innovative customer engagement video assistant solution has been developed by Jio in conjunction with US based Radisys, a Reliance Industries Limited subsidiary. The Jio video bot uses a AI-based platform to listen to customers’ questions and respond to them in the most appropriate way.

Samsung Electronics and Jio presented real-world use cases powered by next generation technology at IMC 2019. The trial featured solutions from Samsung Networks’ 5G product portfolio and the demonstrations included - virtual classroom, which allow attendees to watch 360-degree virtual lecture taken from a classroom in Jio’s Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) in Mumbai; massive full high-definition (HD) content video streaming on multiple smartphones simultaneously and 4K video streaming using multiple 5G tablets. The two companies also demonstrated live a public safety network over LTE featuring Mission critical-Push-To-X (MCPTX) communication.

Vodafone Idea Business Services (VIBS), the enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea has partnered with Nokia to roll out software-defined networking in a wide area network (SD-WAN) services for start-ups and enterprises. It is a software-defined network for digital business to securely access applications in a multi-cloud environment. The services will be offered in partnership with Nokia and is built on Nokia’s Nuage Networks Virtualized Services Platform (VSP)

Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies have completed the first ever live 5G video call in India using 28 GHz spectrum. The call was made using smartphones-based on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform with Snapdragon X50 5G Modem-RF System and Ericsson’s 5G platform including 5G NR radio, RAN Compute products and 5G Evolved Packet Core.

ZTE India Telecom has showcased several live 5G demos at IMC 2019 providing a peek into how the upcoming technologies, including 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, among others, will forever change the way we live and work. ZTE is showcasing 5G terminals and a slew of innovative 5G equipment, technology solutions and use cases.
