As per CLSA, Reliance Jio has reported a quarterly drop of 3 per cent in its average revenue per user (ARPU), whereas a rise of 4-5 percent has been witnessed in the ARPUs of Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel .

The report stated that Bharti Airtel raised the highest ARPU of Rs 129 despite negligible loss in subscriber base. However, Reliance Jio has emerged as a leader both in terms of revenue and subscriber base. Further the report added that Jio accounts for 32 per cent revenue market share (RMS), followed by Bharti Airtel’s 31 per cent and Vodafone Idea’s 29 per cent, respectively.

Vodafone Idea is struggling to maintain market share as it still lags on 4G with 70 per cent population coverage, the report said. Moreover, revenues of incumbent telcos have grown by 1 per cent during Q1 FY20, resulting from Reliance Jio’s quarterly growth of 5 per cent.

Bharti Airtel has added 5 million data subscribers while Vodafone Idea reported a 3 million decline, as per the report.

Meanwhile, the sectoral capital expenditure in Q1 was down 43 per cent to Rs 150 billion, CLSA said.
