India most attacked nation in IoT space during QE June 2019; cyberattacks grew by 22 per cent, says Subex report

According to Subex’s State of Internet of Things (IoT) Security report, cyberattacks on IoT deployments in India grew by 22 per cent in the quarter ended (QE) June 2019, making India the most attacked nation in the IoT space.

Smart cities, financial services and transportation sectors, were the leading sectors in terms of attacks, the report said.  Among the 15 Indian cities from where the data was pooled, the maximum cyberattacks were witnessed in metro cities including Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru.

Moreover, the study highlights that 33,450 high-grade attacks were registered during the qaurter out of which 500 were very high sophistication attacks.

The report identified over 2,550 unique malware samples in the country.
