Reliance Jio signs MoU with Himachal Pradesh government

Reliance Jio has reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Himachal Pradesh, under which, it will undertake an investment of Rs 6.26 billion for the creation of digital infrastructure in the state under the Himachal Pradesh Digitalisation project.

The infrastructure plan includes setting up 1,500 4G sites with an investment worth Rs 3.7 billion. This would provide direct employment to more than 150 people.

Further, Rs 1.6 billion would be invested for the rollout of 1,000 km optical fibre cable while Rs 0.96 billion will be invested for establishing fibre-to–the-home connections across 170,000 homes and enterprises, which together will provide direct employment to 200 people.
