The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed H.S. Sohal as the new chief vigilance officer (CVO) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

Sohal would be replacing Deepak Kashyap, who took charge as BSNL’s CVO in April 2016. Kashyap has now been shifted to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), as per a notification by the Department of Personnel and Training.

Sohal is an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the 1987-batch Arunachal Pradesh, Goa and Mizoram Union Territories (AGMUT)-cadre and is currently on deputation as CVO of Engineers India Limited and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in New Delhi.
