Tata Communications appoints two additional directors

According to a regulatory filing, Tata Communications has announced the appointment of two new additional directors, Rajesh Sharma and Maruthi Prasad Tangirala. The appointments come after G Narendra Nath announced his resignation from the company’s board of directors with effect from March 4, 2019, upon him ceasing to be on the strength of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

Rajesh Sharma belongs to the Indian Telecom Service (ITS) 1988 batch at DoT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (IT), Government of India. At present, he is working as the Deputy Director General (Service Unit) at the DoT.

On the other hand, Tangirala is a 1990 batch officer of the Indian P&T Accounts and Finance Service. He has worked in the areas of revenue assurance, financial advice, vigilance, training, and licensing finance in the DoT, Government of India, and in financial and economic analysis in the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in two stints, first as director and then as advisor. At present, he is the Deputy Director General (LFP), DoT.
