Checkpoint appoints Sharat Sinha as VP of APAC and Japan

Check Point Software Technologies Limited,a leading provider of cyber security solutions, has appointed Sharat Sinha as the Vice President (VP) for Asia Pacific (APAC) and Japan region.  Under this role, he would be responsible for driving Check Point’s market and business growth in the region, focusing on sales strategy and operational plans.

Sharat Sinha has over 25 years’ experience in senior sales and marketing positio ns in the cybersecurity and enterprise IT sectors.  Before joining Checkpoint, he served as VP, Asia-Pacific and Japan at VMware for four years.  Prior to this, he was the Theater VP and General Manager for APAC at Palo Alto Networks for two years. He has also held several sales and divisional leadership roles at Cisco over an 11-year period in the Asia-Pacific region.

Sharat holds a Doctorate in business management from the University of South Australia and has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering.  He also holds a Postgraduate degree in Industrial and Management engineering from the Indian institute of Technology (IIT).

Speaking on the appointment, Dan Yerushalmi, Head of global sales and strategy commented, Checkpoint said “Sharat brings a tremendous depth of knowledge and experience in enterprise security sales and partner management in Asia-Pacific and Japan. This will be fundamental to accelerating our next phase of growth in the region.”
