Himachal Futuristic Corporation Limited (HFCL) has bagged two orders for the supply of optical fibre cable (OFC) from Larsen and Toubro (L&T) and a consortium led by ITI Limited. In this regard, HFCL has declared capex plans worth Rs 3.88 billion to propel the production capacity of its OFC in order to meet the market demand.

HFCL has received an order worth Rs 1.47 billion from L&T for the supply of 16,882 km of OFC, which is planned for creating OFC network infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh under Phase-II of the BharatNet Project.

The second order worth Rs 3.55 billion from a consortium led by ITI Limited is for deploying 37,798 km OFC in Maharashtra under Phase-II of the BharatNet Project which aims to connect 150,000 village panchayats with high speed broadband network.

Meanwhile, HFCL is setting up a greenfield OFC manufacturing facility in Hyderabad with an estimated capex of Rs 1.1 billion which would manufacture 10.50 million fibre kilometre (fkm) OFC per annum.
