According to a study by Ernst & Young (EY), there will be over 650 million smartphone users in India by 2022 and average data usage will be 18 GB per day by 2022.

EY further pointed out that this upsurge in smartphone and data usage will be facilitated by the advent of 5G, which will support newer applications, imbibe innovative business models and usher in cross-industry collaboration.

As per EY, Internet of Things (IoT) has the potential to deliver major social and environmental benefits in sectors like agriculture, automotive and transportation, healthcare, power and utilities.

Also, India's digital economy is expected to grow to $ 1 trillion by 2022. This will create over 10 million jobs.
