Oppo appoints Tasleem Arif as R&D head; will soon set up R&D centre in Hyderabad

Oppo has appointed Tasleem Arif as the company’s new research and development (R&D) head and vice president. Under this new role, Arif will set up a team which will focus on device quality and software localisation for Indian consumers.

Prior to this, Arif was working with Samsung as the head of Samsung Make for India Innovations (R&D), India Hardware-Software Product Planning. He comes with over 15 years of experience in mobile software, design and development.

Meanwhile, Oppo is planning to set up an R&D centre in Hyderabad which will be focused on gaining deeper insights about Indian consumers and market, and help build India centric products.

The Hyderabad R&D centre will be Oppo's seventh facility globally with the other six being in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Yokohama and Silicon Valley.
