Bengal based OTT Hoichoi to foray into foreign markets

Bengal based over the top (OTT) content provider, Hoichoi is going to foray into foreign markets (particularly Bengali speaking diasporas) with region specific offerings. In this regard, the company is planning to enter the markets in Bangladesh and United Arab Emirates (UAE) with an original web-series catering to the audiences over there.

Further, Hoichoi has also introduced top-up cards to facilitate subscriptions. According to the company this move was aimed at non metro audiences which accounts for 40 per cent of the company’s subscriber base. In addition, a part of Hoichoi’s content will also be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Arabic to expand the company’s reach.

Meanwhile, the company is also in the process of introducing pay-per-view option to its transactional video-on-demand (TVoD) model.
