Apple’s India head Sanjay Kaul has stepped down from the position. Kaul was elevated to country manager in May 2016 from the position of sales director and Head of iPhone sales, which he had held since April 2011.

Apple has appointed Michael Coulomb as Kaul’s replacement to head its India operations. Coulomb, who was the managing director for Apple’s South-Asia operations, will be assuming office, effective immediately.  Coulomb has worked with Apple for the past 14 years. Prior to his appointment as to head operations in India, he has led Apple’s operations in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

Meanwhile, Apple has been struggling to maintain its growth trajectory in India and is facing its slowest pace of growth in India in over five years for the fiscal year ended March 2017. Future projections also do not look very positive for the company whose phones have received a price hike in response to a hike in basic customs duty from 10 per cent to 15 per cent.
