ZTE India joins COAI as an associate member

The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), welcomed ZTE India as an associate member. ZTE India started operations in India in 2003. Further, the company is also a partner with many state governments for the Smart Cities initiative.

COAI’s associate membership comprises companies that manufacture or support the functioning, promotion, research development and evolution of mobile communications services. COAI’s other associate members include Google India, Ericsson India, Sterlite Technologies, GTL Infrastructure, Huawei Technologies, Indus Towers, Intel Corporation, Nokia Solutions and Networks, Qualcomm India, Facebook India Online Services, etc.

Welcoming ZTE into the COAI, Rajan Mathews, Director General, COAI, “It is our pleasure to welcome ZTE on board as an associate member. We are sure that the joint efforts of COAI for the industry and ZTE’s expertise in telecom equipment and next generation technology will go a long way in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s dream of building a digitally empowered nation. Given ZTE’s technical expertise and ability to cross purpose, various technologies for consumer and business use, we are proud to have them as our member. We are truly delighted and look forward to working with ZTE.”

Commenting on the association, Peng Aiguang, Chief Executive Officer, ZTE India said, “We truly feel privileged and delighted to be a part of COAI as an associate member.  It is one of the most relevant industry bodies; ZTE will benefit through the access to industry knowledge sensitisation and awareness of issues pertaining to the telecom industry and further strengthen its relationship with the sector. This partnership will enable us to provide further convenience to our partners and sellers. Many of our India-specific innovations have spread to some of the advanced economies and with support of COAI we look forward to contributing our best to the Digital India initiative."
