Nokia’s COO, Monika Maurer, steps down from the role

Nokia’s chief operating officer (COO), Monika Maurer has decided to leave the telecom equipment maker. She had held the position for a period of just eight months.

Maurer became a part of Nokia after the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent in 2016. In April 2017, Maurer was promoted to the position of group COO. Prior to this, she was the COO of fixed networks.

Meanwhile, Joerg Erlemeier, who is currently a senior vice president for Nokia Transformation, will take over Maurer’s role in the company. Maurer will assist Erlemeier during this period of transition. Erlemeier will report directly to chief executive officer (CEO) Rajeev Suri.
