Telecom secretary JS Deepak named India’s next WTO ambassador

The government has appointed telecom secretary JS Deepak as India’s next ambassador to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

According to the office order by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet, Deepak has been shifted with immediate effect from the telecom ministry and has been made officer on special duty (OSD) in the commerce department. He will be functioning as OSD till May 31, 2017 and will assume the position of India’s next WTO ambassador from June 1, 2017.
