Corning appoints Amit Bansal as managing director for its India operations

Corning Incorporated has appointed Amit Bansal as the managing director for its India operations. In this role, Bansal would be responsible for the company’s growth and operations and would contribute to strategic planning for Corning India. He would also oversee Corning’s manufacturing operations, business development efforts and would also pursue new global supply management opportunities.

Bansal, who has also been appointed to the Corning Finolex board of directors, has almost two decades of extensive business experience both internationally and in India. Prior to joining Corning, Bansal had played a key role in leading commercial merger and acquisition initiatives at Axygen, a California-based life science company.

Commenting on the appointment, Thomas Appelt, president, Corning International, emerging markets, said “Amit has been an integral part of the organisation and has contributed to the company’s growth in the country over the past several years, said. Amit brings in immense experience and I am confident that he will drive the company’s growth plans for India.”

Meanwhile, commenting on his appointment, Amit Bansal, said “I am excited to be a part of Corning’s journey in India and witness numerous growth avenues explored by the organisation. I am committed to take the company’s vision forward and utilise all of my skills to ensure an accelerated growth trajectory for the company across verticals.

Bansal is a qualified chartered accountant and also holds degrees in finance and accounting.
