Vodafone India reports a 3.43 per cent year-on-year decline in India revenues for the quarter ended June 2016

Vodafone India has reported a 3.43 per cent year-on-year decline in India revenues from £1,569 million during the quarter ended June 2015 to £1,519 million during the corresponding quarter in 2016.  The company, however, reported a year-on-year growth of 6.4 per cent in its organic service revenues.

The operator’s average revenue per user declined by 4.35 per cent from £184 during the quarter ended June 2015 to £176 during the quarter ended June 2016. Meanwhile, the total voice usage increased from 180,815 million minutes to 187,362 million minutes while data usage increased from 67,970 TB to 91,442 TB during the same period.

The operator’s wireless subscriber base increased from 185.38 million at end-June 2015 to 199.38 million at end-June 2016. During the quarter ended June 2016, the operator added 3,300 3G sites, taking the total to 59,000 and the population coverage to 96 per cent of target urban areas.

The operator also plans to soon launch an initial public offering (IPO).
