MTNL reports a 3.56 per cent fall in its net loss for the quarter ended December 2015

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has reported a decline of 3.56 per cent in its net loss, which fell from Rs 7.31 billion for the quarter ended December 2014 to Rs 7.05 billion for the quarter ended December 2015. This was primarily on account of a reduction in the operator’s total expenditure, which decreased from Rs 12.49 billion to Rs 12.41 billion during the same period.  In addition, the finance costs of the company declined from Rs 3.63 billion to Rs 3.3 billion.

Meanwhile, the operator’s total income from operations declined by 5.66 per cent from Rs 81.69 billion during the quarter ended December 2014 to Rs 77.07 billion during the corresponding period in 2015.
