Sterlite Technologies reports 82 per cent rise in its profits for the quarter ended December 2015

Sterlite Technologies has reported an 82 per cent rise in its standalone profits from Rs 230 million for the quarter ended December 2014 to Rs 420 million for the quarter ended December 2015. Meanwhile, its total revenues witnessed an increase of 27 per cent from Rs 8.95 billion to Rs 11.34 billion, during the same period.

The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amotisation (EBITDA) from the telecom segment in showed a growth of 25 per cent to Rs 1.1 billion for the quarter ended December 2015, while revenue rose by 20 per cent to Rs 4.96 billion.

According to the company, all of its optical fibre operations in India and China continued to operate above rated capacity. During the third quarter, the optical fibre business achieved an annualised sales rate of about 22 million km, for a total rated capacity of 20 million km.
