Bharti Infratel reports marginal rise in profits for quarter ended December 2015

Bharti Infratel has reported a marginal increase in its profits from Rs 5.06 billion for the quarter ended December 2014 to Rs 5.65 billion for the quarter ended December 2015. The growth was on account of the increased capital expenditure by operators in the aggressive rollout of 3G and 4G networks encouraged by increasing mobile data usage and focus on quality of service.

The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) improved by 6 per cent from Rs 12.46 billion to Rs 13.49 billion, also in the same period. Meanwhile, its total revenues increased from Rs 29.48 billion for the quarter ended December 2014 to Rs 30.93 billion for the quarter ended December 2015.

The company's total tower base stood at 88,055 as on December 2015 whereas its average sharing factor stood at 2.17 times.
