Ericsson reports 34 per cent rise in its net sales from Indian operations in the fourth quarter of 2015

Sweden-based equipment manufacturer Ericsson has reported a 34 per cent rise in its net sales from Indian operations from 2.3 billion Swedish krona for the quarter ended December 2014 to 3.2 billion Swedish krona for the quarter ended December 2015.

This growth was on account of strong demand for mobile broadband infrastructure in the country. According to Ericsson, India is amongst the fastest growing markets and is one of the top three countries in terms of sales. In terms of yearly accounts, Ericsson India’s net sales increased from 7.8 billion krona for the year ended December 2014 to 13.4 billion Swedish krona for the year ended December 2015. 

The company’s net revenue from its India network business increased by 43 per cent to 1.7 billion Swedish krona for the quarter ended December 2015. Ericsson stated that India contributed 5 per cent of its overall net sales during January-December 2015 period. In the fourth quarter of 2015, the contribution of the Indian unit stood at 4 per cent.
