Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), a subsidiary of Reliance Communications, has announced the deployment of US-based Ciena Corporation’s packet networking solutions to enable high-capacity Ethernet services on the former’s transatlantic route. The transatlantic subsea route connects London to New York and India.
With the deployment of Ciena's packet networking capabilities, GCX is now facilitating flexible, high-bandwidth connectivity for global content and application distribution and is supporting critical business transactions, data-intensive applications and high-bandwidth cloud computing services.
Further, GCX is also utilising Ciena's advanced management solutions for carrier-grade automated self-service activation, creation, and management to optimise bandwidth utilisation across their entire access and submarine network. Ciena is also providing enablement, fulfillment and installation services through its specialist service portfolio. GCX has extensive, privately-owned subsea, terrestrial and IP networks that connect most major telecommunications hubs across the globe.
