GTL Infrastructure has reported a 14.3 per cent increase in net loss from Rs 1.47 billion for the quarter ended September 2014 to Rs 1.68 billion for the quarter ended September 2015. This was on account of a decline in the company’s revenues from Rs 1.48 billion to Rs 1.57 billion during the same period.

GTL has attributed this decline to the overall slowdown in the telecom industry during recent years, slow growth of 3G technology, and inflationary costs of power and fuel. Due to the overall set back in its business operations, the company incurred cash losses. The company has, however, stated that it continues to take various measures such as cost optimisation, improvement in operating efficiency and renegotiation of contracts with customers to improve its operating results and cash flows.
