Motorola has launched its Moto X smartphone in India. The device functions on the latest version of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system (OS) and is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon processor. The Moto X has a 4.7 inch screen, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of inbuilt storage, a 10 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The device is priced at Rs 23,999 and is exclusively available on Flipkart.com.

Karbonn Mobiles has introduced three new Android-based smartphones – the Karbonn Titanium Hexa, the Titanium Octane and the Titanium Octane Plus, priced at Rs 16,990, Rs 14,490 and Rs 17,990 respectively. The smartphones function on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS and support dual SIM cards. The Titanium Octane and the Titanium Octane Plus feature 5 inch screens and are powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-cor, MediaTek MT6592 processor. The Titanium Octane packs in 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt memory. The Titanium Hexa has a 5.5 inch screen and is powered by a 1.5 GHz hexa-core MediaTek MT6591 processor. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of built-in memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. Both the Titanium Octane and the Titanium Hexa have a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The Titanium Octane Plus features 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. It has a 16 megapixel autofocus rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The three smartphones support technologies such as Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G (HSPA+) and Bluetooth 4.0.

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) has introduced the MTS Blaze 4.0 smartphone, which functions on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. This smartphone has a 4 inch screen and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The MTS Blaze 4.0 sports 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of inbuilt memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. The smartphone supports a 3.2 megapixel camera and technologies such as Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and EV-DO Rev. A. The MTS Blaze 4.0 is priced at Rs 6,299. Customers purchasing this smartphone can avail of 100,000 MB of free data usage for one year with a first-time recharge of Rs 198.

Gionee has launched the Elife S5.5 smartphone in India. The device has a 5 inch screen and is powered by a 1.7 GHz true octa-core processor. The smartphone functions on the Android-based Amigo OS and has 2 GB RAM with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The Elife S5.5 is priced at Rs 23,000.

Idea Cellular has introduced the Idea Id 1000 smartphone, which runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The smartphone features a 3.5 inch screen and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The Idea Id 1000 comes with 4 GB of inbuilt memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card, and a 2 megapixel camera and supports dual SIM cards. It carries a price tag of Rs 5,400.

Panasonic has introduced the P31 phablet that works on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. The phablet has a 5 inch screen and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. The P31 has 4 GB of inbuilt memory, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card and supports an 8 megapixel rear camera as well as a VGA front-facing camera. The phablet is priced at Rs 11,990.

Nokia has launched its first Android-powered smartphone, the Nokia X,  which functions on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. The smartphone has a 4 inch screen and a 3 megapixel camera, and is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor. The Nokia X packs in 512 MB  RAM, 4 GB of inbuilt memory, which is expandable up to 32 GB, and supports dual SIM cards. The smartphone is priced at Rs 8,599.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), in partnership with device manufacturer Champion, has introduced the BSNL Champion DM6513 3G-enabled phablet. The device has a 6.5 inch screen and is powered by a dual-core processor. The BSNL Champion DM6513 functions on the Android 4.2.2 OS. The phablet sports a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. It is  priced at Rs 6,999.

Micromax has introduced the Canvas Knight smartphone, which uses the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The device has a 5 inch screen and is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor. The Canvas Knight has 2 GB RAM, 32 GB of inbuilt storage, a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.

WickedLeak has introduced the Wammy Passion X smartphone, which functions on the Android 4.2 OS. This phone has a 5 inch screen and is powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor. The Wammy Passion X features 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 64 GB using a microSD card, and supports dual SIM cards. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The device is priced at Rs 22,500.

Spice has introduced the Smart Flo Poise Mi 451 smartphone, which is powered by the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The smartphone has a 4.3 inch screen and a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor. The Smart Flo Poise Mi 451 features 4 GB RAM and 512 MB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 32 GB. It also has a 3.2 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. The smartphone supports technologies such as EDGE and Wi-Fi and is priced at Rs 5,499.

Sony has introduced the Xperia E1 smartphone, which works on the Android 4.3 OS. It has a 4 inch screen and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. The Xperia E1 has 512 MB RAM and a 3 megapixel rear camera. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,490. Sony has also introduced the dual SIM card variant of the Xperia E1, which carries a 3.15 megapixel rear camera and is priced at Rs 10,490.

LG has introduced the G2 4G Android-based smartphone, which runs on the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. This device has a 5.2 inch screen and is powered by a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The G2 packs in 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB. The smartphone has a  13 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2 megapixel front camera.

Aircel has introduced four recharge vouchers under the Happy Recharge range. The vouchers are priced between Rs 45 and Rs 368. The Rs 45 voucher offers 45 minutes of talktime, 45 MB of data usage and 45 SMSs for five days. The recharge voucher priced at Rs 168 offers 183 minutes of talktime, 750 MB of data usage and 168 SMSs. Subscribers opting for the recharge voucher priced at Rs 268 can avail of 366 minutes of talktime, 1 GB of data usage and 268 SMSs. The Rs 368 voucher offers 550 minutes of talktime, 2 GB of data usage and 368 SMSs. The vouchers are valid for one month.

Micromax has partnered with Aircel to offer buyers data benefits equivalent to the cost of a device. The offer is currently applicable to four Micromax devices – MMX 377G (dongle), Funbook Mini 410i, A090 and X070. Subsequently, the bundled data offers will be extended to other upcoming Micromax devices. These offers are valid for three months. Under the deal, consumers buying the MMX 377G (dongle) can avail of 2 GB of data usage per month. Funbook customers will have access to 1 GB of free data per month and will be charged Rs 1.20 per second for local and national calls. Also, customers buying Micromax smartphones can avail of 500 MB of data usage per month and will be charged Rs 1.20 per second for local and national calls.

With an aim to boost its data revenues, Uninor has introduced new tariff plans for its subscribers accessing Facebook and WhatsApp. Under the one-day plan, subscribers can access Facebook and WhatsApp for an unlimited duration for Re 1 per day. In addition, users can access Facebook for Re 0.50, Rs 5 and Rs 15 for a day, a week and a month respectively. Consumers will be charged similar tariffs for accessing WhatsApp. Uninor is currently offering these tariff plans to its subscribers in the Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa circles and plans to subsequently extend the offer to other circles as well.

SSTL has introduced the Super Unlimited data tariff plans. For Rs 999, post-paid and prepaid customers can avail of 40 GB and 20 GB of data respectively for 30 days. Customers can also opt for tariff plans priced at Rs 1,298 and Rs 1,498, and access 25 GB and 30 GB of data with a validity period of one month. The plans have been introduced in nine circles – Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), West Bengal and Kolkata.

Idea Cellular has partnered with Gameloft, the creator and publisher of digital and social games targeted at mobile users. The tie-up will enable over 130 million Idea Cellular subscribers to avail of games from the Gameloft Game Store and through the operator’s mobile portal. Both prepaid and post-paid subscribers can access these games through their GPRS and 3G-enabled smartphones.

Aircel has entered into a strategic partnership with Snapdeal.com. Under the deal, customers purchasing a data-enabled mobile phone from Snapdeal.com will get 3 GB of 2G and 3G data usage benefits free from Aircel for a period of three months.
