Huawei has supported Russia-based service provider, Scartel to launch voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) services in the country.

The telecom equipment manufacturer has deployed single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) solution to enable Scartel to introduce VoLTE services. The SRVCC implements a handover function which enables LTE voice call continuity in 2G/3G networks at the users’ end. Following the implementation of the solution, mobile virtual network operators which are using Scartel’s LTE network will be able to support voice calls as well.

Huawei is providing an end-to-end network solution to Scartel covering the radio access network, circuit switch core network, IP multimedia subsystem, evolved packet core network.
