MTNL posts its results for the first quarter of financial year 2012-2013

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has come out with its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.
The operator has registered a net loss of Rs 10.59 billion for the first quarter ended June 30, 2012 in comparison to Rs 8.50 billion in the corresponding period last year. MTNL’s total income from operations increased by two per cent from Rs 8.13 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 to Rs 8.33 billion during the corresponding quarter in 2012.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2012, MTNL’s revenue from basic services and from cellular services stand at Rs 6.53 billion and Rs 1.83 billion, respectively. The employee remuneration and benefit costs for the operator stood at Rs 9.79 billion, during the quarter under review. MNTL’s administrative and operative expenditure increased from Rs 150 billion during the quarter ended June 30, 2011 to Rs 1.71 billion for the corresponding quarter in 2012.
